I can't speak to personal experience but a fellow Miata owner in Atlanta put the Edelbrock SC on their 2017 ND and after 3 months of custom ROM tuning replaced with a BBR Turbo kit and never looked back. If I remember correctly the second tune on the turbo was rock solid but he went through about 8 iterations on the SC before giving up.
That was back in 2019. Maybe they've gotten the tunes better since then?
