Location:  Safeway, 1275 E Sunset Dr, Bellingham, WA 98226

From Bellingham to the majestic peak of Mt. Baker, Mt. Baker Scenic Byway SR 542 offers visitors a highway winding through rolling wooded hills and small communities including Deming, Kendall, Maple Falls, and Glacier.  In the summer months, the highway ends at milepost 58 in a parking lot with photo opportunities which gives visitors access to Artist Point and its spectacular views of Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Baker’s 10,781-foot peak. 

We will meet at Safeway, 1275 E. Sunset Drive, Bellingham, WA at 9:00am with a driver's meeting at 9:30am and depart at 9:45am.  It is a free day and we will have a bathroom break at the Ranger's Station on our way up to the parking lot at Mt. Baker.  After spending time there, we will be eating at Feast 542.  

Please bring your Walkie-Talkie.  This is a mountain road and please drive safely.  The drive will take less than two hours to reach the top of Mt. Baker parking lot.  If there are fires or smoke in the area, the drive will be cancelled.
