Your hosts are attending the Willamette Valley Miata Club Explore Oregon 2024” at Tillamook, Oregon July 11-13, 2024.   If you are too, feel free join us for a leisurely two-day back roads cruise to the event.

We have planned a scenic drive from Gig Harbor on many new roads for this year. We will pass through Pierce, Mason, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties. This is a trip on Roads Less Traveled through Tree Farm country. We will emerge from the forests for lunch at a Drive-In with traditional burgers etc.

The start will be from Gig Harbor Starbucks that can be reached toll-free from the peninsula or urban Puget Sound cities. Rest stops are planned before and after lunch as we travel to Astoria for our overnight stay on Wednesday, July 10.

Please make your own Wednesday night room reservations at Astoria/Warrenton/Seaside wherever you like.  Suggest everyone book early as we will be in high season there.  (Tour leaders plan to stay at Astorias Hampton Inn and can make dinner suggestions.)

For departure on Thursday, July 11 the group will meet mid-morning at the Warrenton Starbucks along US 101 just across the bridge heading south.  If you can make only that day, contact the hosts and we’ll provide meetup details.  Day Two will continue through Oregon logging country along more winding back roads before and after our lunch stop at a country venue. We will arrive at our Tillamook motel in time to get our rooms before Event Registration.

FRS walkie-talkie radios (not old CBs) suggested for this drive and the event.  Rustic rest room supplies and in-car snacks/water are also suggested because some of this run will be fairly remote.

Please RSVP for this drive on our own PSMC web site calendar. IMPORTANT:  Show your name, don’t be “anonymous,” so your hosts know whos coming and we can stay in touch.

[NOTE:  You must pre-register separately with WVMC for the Explore Oregon meet and make your own reservations at the official Tillamook hotel in order to attend the actual weekend meet.  See that host club’s web site at http://www.oregonmx5.com ]
