(Channeling the expertise of Cindy Smith)

The Haunted Places Tour came about a number of years ago when our past president, Cindy Smith, researched some of the landmarks around the Puget Sound that had connections to famous individuals or "hauntings" of real "ghost" experiences. These were fantastic drives with lots of interesting roads and stops along the way.

This tour will take you on a drive to some of these places and you'll get to revisit some of our favorite "haunts" from the past Haunted Places Tours.

We'll meet on 23rd St directly across from the Park N Ride structure. Look for your host in an Emerald Green Miata at the lead position. We'll have a short drivers' meeting to explain the route and give a few important details on the drive route that you should know before we leave.

On the oppposite side of the Park N Ride is Freight House Square, where you may want to stop in for a cup of coffee before we begin. We'll have a bathroom stop in the first 10 miles of the trip.

This is an urban drive and will take you on some roads you may never have driven (even if you went on Cindy's drive 10 years ago!). So much has changed in Tacoma you would hardly recognize it! I've built in a couple of bathroom stops and expect the drive to last a little more than 2 hours total.

We'll stop for lunch at the end in Tacoma at the Homestead Restaurant. Should you get lost, meet everyone there for lunch. Depending on the size of the group, we will be seated separately from everyone else or in a couple of large tables across from one another. The Homestead Restaurant is located at 7837 S Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409 . We should wrap everything up around 1:30 or 2 p.m. I'll pass out a menu with the directions for the drive, but if you are curious, click here for the menu.

You'll get a taste of some haunted and historical places along the way so you can experience Tacoma's past at it's finest. With luck, there may still be some fall color along the route. At the least, there are spectacular views throughout the drive, so it's going to be a fun day.
